With Laniakea, his fifth studio album released on the French imprint Ultimae, Martin Nonstatic ventures beyond his established aesthetic, opening a broader horizon as he explores new compositional territories. The album presents 11 finely orchestrated pieces, where rhythms, atmospheres, and melodies drift converge beyond their usual boundaries.

The music evolves with remarkable breadth, spanning a spectrum from ethereal patterns to upbeat passages which give rise to dancefloor-oriented compositions. This expansion of both texture and movement reinforces the album’s sense of progression and discovery. The tracks “Outside Eyesights” and “Impulsing Path” revisited from earlier releases, are reinterpreted here with a renewed perspective that aligns with the album’s expanded sonic palette.

Laniakea, the album title, refers to the supercluster of galaxies that includes the Milky Way, a vast cosmic formation defined by gravitational flows and interconnections across immense distances. Drawing inspiration from this vast ensemble, Laniakea invites the listener into a space where scale dissolves and perception shifts.

French composer Vincent Villuis, under his AES Dana moniker, unveils a remastered edition of Perimeters, originally released in 2011. Conceived as a passage into a realm of fragile melancholy and unadorned intensity, the album unfolds as a gradual immersion, where light and shadow continually shift and the dialogue between near and distant resonances shapes every sound.

Throughout Perimeters, atmospheric electronica flirts with neo-classical ambient; warm downtempo grooves and deep basslines ripple over hypnotic pads, while fragmented drums carve rhythm into layers of field recordings. AES Dana weaves in moments of driving, progressive trance, lending propulsion to an already immersive soundscape. The opening track features violin performance and composition by Field Rotation, adding an organic element that enriches the album’s texture.

Across ten tracks, the story sways the listener along a path where memory and imagination intertwine, a place beyond the perimeter of our microcosmic life.

AES Dana’s Leylines is being reissued in a newly reedited and remastered version.

Originally released in 2009, “Leylines” quickly became a pivotal work in Villuis’s career. What few people knew at the time is that the album was composed in its entirety twice: after a catastrophic disk crash destroyed the original version and one year of work, Villuis entered a period of deep introspection before starting over. This shock led not only to emotional reckoning but also to a complete reinvention of his creative process.

Leylines became the foundation for a new compositional language, one built on a fresh sonic palette, renewed patterns, and a more sculptural approach to sound. The final result was more distilled, more intentional, and marked a turning point in his musical trajectory. Upon release, the album reached #1 on the iTunes USA Electronic Music charts, establishing itself as a landmark within the genre.

Inspired by the concept of “leylines”, invisible energy paths believed to link sacred and geomagnetic sites, the album explores the subtle connections between musical genres, emotional states, and the living world.

Sculpted from field recordings, analog synthesis, and digitally processed textures, Leylines is a deeply immersive and granular journey. This reedited and remastered edition brings greater spatial clarity and depth, revealing new layers of nuance and sonic interplay.

“OPIA,” is the second Various Artists compilation curated by Danish DJ Christian Samsara. Far & Off was not a spontaneous reaction but a slow culmination of necessity, not driven by any philosophical, spiritual, or religious belief, but as a natural response to the surrounding frenzy. This album is about seeking solitude, crossing into a different rhythm, and feeling the flow of time.

With this story, the artists share this experience through keys and sounds, pads and patterns, glitches, and drums, aiming to create contrasted tales that highlight life’s paradoxes, from harshness to tranquility.

The remastering and graphic redesign of Far & Off required months of dedicated effort, as we aimed to enhance every detail of this significant release in the Ultimae catalog. We are proud to present this album in both CD digipack and vinyl formats.
