For the past two years, Nils Frahm has been building a brand new studio in Berlin to make his 7th studio album titled All Melody.
Despite being confined within the majestic four walls of the Funkhaus, buried deep in its reverb chambers, or in an old dry well in Mallorca, All Melody is, in fact, proof that music is limitless, timeless, and reflects that of Nils’ own capabilities. From a boy’s dream to resetting the parameters of music itself.
” This record includes what I think sticks out and describes my recent musical discoveries in the best possible way I could imagine.”
Nils Frahm, October 2017

Alessandro Cortini inaugurates new imprint Point Of Departure with Avanti, the follow-up to his Forse triptych for Important Recs and two breakthrough LPs for Prurient‘s Hospital Productions.
Prior to making the record, Cortini rediscovered an archive of home videos made by his grandfather, who passed away a few years previously. The films, however, were missing one crucial element – the sound. So Cortini decided he would restore the miss-ing audio in his own way, by composing a musical accompaniment to the footage.
Avanti is rich in anomalies and irregularities – much like our memories – which Cortini let creep into his compositions by recording live on a single synthesiser, the EMS Synthi AKS, without overdubs. “Just like the films, there are errors and mistakes in the music, some of which became the theme and some which are peculiar things that happen once or twice,” he says.
The 10 year anniversary collection is now fully available at Ultimae Record Shop. It celebrates a decade of deeper electronic music. This special edition vinyl collection features artists whose music continues to inspire the Silent Season journey.
The #SSX10 artwork showcases elemental textures found in the natural environment around Vancouver Island. The vinyl is a smokey grey colour and comes in a 10 year anniversary jacket with the tree of life. There are two colour editions for the jacket, dark & light. Sharing a vision with a family of artists from around the world, we hope you enjoy the collection. Sit back, close your eyes and listen.
