Three years after his last full-length album on Delsin, tireless techno producer Mike Dehnert is back with Lichtbedingt, exploring broken bass, swinging house and beatless electronic experimentalism amongst other things. Key to this album and Dehnert’s output as a whole is, besides the killer grooves, the production: crisp and clean, full blooded and always outstanding, it makes his tracks leap out of the speakers and into minds, bodies and souls without relying on the usual tropes or same old cheap tricks. An international team of astronomers exploring the disk of gas and dust of the bright star Beta Pictoris have uncovered a compact cloud of poisonous gas formed by ongoing rapid-fire collisions among a swarm of icy, comet-like bodies. The researchers suggest the comet swarm may be frozen debris trapped and concentrated by the gravity of an as-yet-unseen planet.

Following his contribution to Mahiane’s Oxycanta III compilation, German composer Lars Leonhard, whose music has been regularly used by Nasa to illustrate their videos, joins Ultimae for a series of digital EPs. Here comes the second chapter [ Burning Clouds ], a three tracks EP which presents delightfully oneiric music. Lars once again proves his talent in these ambient tales infused with warm sub basses, sparkly sounds and slow grooves. We invite you to discover his immersive and captivating soundscapes with the audio samples and video teaser.

On the occasion of the 1050th anniversary of the city of Luxembourg, a video mapping will be screened on various building fronts (19, 20 and 21 September 2013). A “sound and light” show involving acoustic musicians and electronic music which will be presented in the grounds of the Abbey. Created by the Centre AudioVisuel des Dominicains de Haute-Alsace (Conception: Philippe Dolfus, Video: Soum-Phone Singharat, Sound Installation: Alexandre Knecht). Sound design by Vincent Villuis featuring compositions by AES Dana, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Scann-Tec.
Mario Sammut aka Cygna composed the music for the solo piece and self-portrait Penelope, a poetic journey through past and present, a pushing of restless memories forward into light. A collaboration between Athanasia Kanellopoulou and the rubberbodies collective.

Amund Lie’s short movie is now available from iTunes featuring music by Vincent Villuis aka AES Dana. The Passport is a sci fi psychological drama with Vincent Schiavelli, Leif Andrée, Lars Arentz-Hansen to name but a few. It is also Mr. Schiavelli´s last film performance and one of his few leading roles.
Synopsis : “No matter how innocent you may be, they can always make you feel guilty… As the result of a flippant remark during routine passport control, a traveller awakens the suspicion of a security officer and is taken aside for interrogation. He is confronted by a high-ranking official who questions his identity and his intentions. The Passport is a commentary on today’s terrorist paranoia when anyone, anywhere can be detained in the name of national security.”
Vincent Villuis aka AES Dana created an 8.1 installation in the garden of Les Dominicains de Haute-Alsace (Guebwiller); a long 33 minutes remix of the “Concerto in D minor” BWV 1052 composed by J-S Bach. Spatialisation of harmonies, sonic illusions amongst plants cultivated by famous gardener Alain Périchon. The poetic interludes were written by Anne Vouaux and audio routing programed by Alexandre Knecht. Audio candies to launch the 2013 season!
